| How BizTax was BornIt all started from my house with a cheap PC and an HP inkjet printer. The first name I gave it was BizTex. "Biz" for Business and "Tex" for Texas. In 1999, I went on a search online for credits and deductions that were applicable to my flower shop business. I was young, paying too much tax and desperate to learn so I read some the IRS publications for income tax filing. That year I purchased TurboTax business software, did my income tax return and a friend's too. I had learned how to cut down my taxes doing the long form. The year after that, my friend referred another friend to me to do her income tax return because I knew how to itemize deductions in turn increasing her refund. So I did. Then, I informed my aunt who has a business too about all the benefits of doing the long form and how many credits are available for self-employed owners, so she also let me do hers. By the time I new it, I had forty income taxes to file in the year 2000 and I wasn't charging because they were for friends and relatives. I couldn't afford to do this for free anymore. This is how I decided to make it a business. I had clients and I was starting to charge for the service. My family made fun of the name for sounding like "Bistek", which is mexican for beef used in mexican tacos. I changed it to what is now "BizTax".Today, after eleven years of service, I am proud to say that BizTax's client list is growing and growing every year. I owe this to God who abundantly blesses so that we bless others.Jeanneth Escobedo, Owner
